propane question

I have substituted the original propane tank on my jet star 3 to a fork lift tank.The tank has a vapor and luquid valve. The brackets that hold the tank require the tank to lay horizontal. My question is:Is there anyway i can draw the vapor from my tank in the horicontal position or will i have to alter my brackets to hold the tank in a upright position? thanks

everyone i talk with says it should be able to run on vapor alone for bush hogging and other light farm work thus saving a lot of fuel.

Wouldn't it still need pretty much the same fuel mixture? I believe the vapor is mostly used till the engine got to operating temp.. If you have enough surface area.[Isn't the fork lift tank smaller?] It won't hurt to run on vapor if you want to try it. You can tell if your tank starts frosting up then you are going to be to lean on fuel.

I haven't seen a fork lift tank with a vapor valve but if it has one and it's made for hoizontal use it should work. Is the bracket made to hold it in the proper postion?[the pressure relief valve upwards as to vent vapor and not liquid]

Turn the tank with the fuel gauge upside down in the horizontal position that will be vapor,but why? It should start and run on liquid unless it's really cold where your at.
