I have been looking for a big MM in the 100 hp range. Would a Lp or diesel be more economical. LP cost here is $2.5 per gal while diesel is $3.79. I relize the diesel will burn less fuel but with the higher cost will it equil out. Thanks wcs

I talked to Mr. Wendell Everett the other day on this same topic. He stated that years ago, a John Deere engineer was in his shop and he asked the same thing. John Deere was playing with LPG back in the late 60"s-70"s and Moline had experience and knowledge in this are and were getting there butts beat. So John Deere hired a college to research it and they found LPG was more efficent and cheaper. John Deere paid them to say that diesel is better, but you would have to run the tractor 750 hours for the cost to be the same. Hope that helps. We have a M670 super-LPG, M5-gas, 5Star-LPG, Jetstar3-diesel, 445-gas, U-gas

You may be shocked at the price of the LP Pump, I have been looking for one for awhile. The tank will fill from the pressure in your stationary tank if you open the 80% valve on your tractor to let the pressure out of the tractor tank. It just takes longer and be sure no sparks or flames. I have been thinking of getting a fitting to hook on the vapor fill valve and let pressure out there.

No good idea on cost difference but I have 4 LPG and 1 diesel molines.

Useing a "bleeder" on the vapor valve MAKES filling the LP tank over twice as fast and is far less expensive than a pump! I have been using this means for over 30 yrs and works great!

Lp was never big here for tractor fuel. About the only way I could get fuel would be to get a pump on my LP heating tank to fill it up. I would still like to know what the cost difference would be to operate. Thanks
