I just got 335 row crop that has som tracsmission issues. It appears that a couple gears have some missing teeth. My question is do the transmission parts between a 335 row crop and 445"s interchange? I have a 445b partsbook but no 335 book. If so, anyone have some gears to sell? Thanks.. Jake

Jake,

I layed my books together and the parts numbers all match between the 335 and 445 in the tranny. The bevel sets are not the same.

Let me know if there are any other numbers you would like me to check.

Keith

I dont have a 335 book either, just a 445 book. If you do find out they are the same, which Im guessing knowing MM, they might be, there was a guy on ebay that had a 445 and a 4 Star rear end and was going to scrap them out. I have his email if your interested or could contact him for you. The one you have is a row crop not utility?

Yes, its a row crop with E type front end. Its a pretty nice and clean tractor. The RH side panel has been cut down at the bottom for the sediment bowl, otherwise the sheet metal is very nice. The nose casting is not broken, the emblem is there, the three point is nice and not broken up, no top link though. Fenders are nice except for a bit of rust on the RH one by the battery. It has one remote, the draft levers are not broke, drawbar is in good shape, step plates good. Dash nice except for a broken spedo needle. I am going to take the trans top cover off tonight and see if i can find the problem. Hopefully just a simple gear swap and nothing major destroyed.

Thanks for the help fellas. will keep everyone informed.

Jake

Well I got it diagnosed this eve. Not the best news but still repairable. It appears a differential carrier bearing failed, the carrier moved away from the pinion and it stripped some teeth off the ring gear. So it will take a ring and pinion and some bearings. To bad because its really a clean little tractor. I was hoping (of course) it wasnt so bad, mabye just a gear or two. Oh well. I had planned on fixing it and reselling it then. Mabye sell it as is.

Does the 335 utility have the same ring and pinion along with the carrier? What is the difference between it and a 445.

Thanks

Jake

Jake,

My 335 book only shows one bevel set for the 335s.

Thanks for the help Keith. I do apprecate it. Ive picked up a good selection of the MM parts books and microfiche, but nothing for 335 yet.

I am going to try and sell it as is. If no interest i will round up some parts and fix it. Of course then i will have to charge more. I was hoping hauling it for free to the midwest would help get it sold eaiser.

Thanks again for your help.
