ZA Decals - different year to year?

Hello, I've got a '49 ZA that I'm restoring and it's the 38th ZA built. Are the decals any different for the early ZA than for the later tractors? For some reason in the picture on the front of my parts book, which was printed in '49, the decals look different than the ones you see for sale like on ebay. Any insight out there?

Thanks,

Zack

Didn't some of the '49 Zs come with a white Minneapolis Moline decal on the hood? Or do they just look white after 50 years?

I know what you mean. Ive seen them that way too and wondered but I think they are just weathered.

Yes they are different. The 1949s had a MM modern machinery decal on each side of the fuel tank and a red Minneapolis-Moline on the side of the hood. Also had a MM modern machinery decal on the back of the double cushion seat. The 1950 and up models ( not sure when the ser # break was ) had no decal on the fuel tank and had (MM)Minneapolis-Moline Z on the side of the hood. Generally I believe from the factory it is supposed to read that on either side---meaning the Z followed the (MM)Minneapolis-Moline. On the right side ( from sitting on seat ) the Z would be towards the radiator, but on the left side it would be towards the fuel tank at the back of the hood. I know some say they have had them come from the factory with the letters both by the radiator but from literature Ive seen I think it was intended the other way. The MM Corresponder sells the proper decals for them and some others probably do to.

Thanks Alan, I'll call up R-M Distributors soon to get the decals and let them know which ones I need.
