I am looking to have reproduction gauges made for my MM 445. I can get a discount if I buy multiple gauges. I was looking to see if there is demand for these gauges, since I have not found any other sources.

Is there any other MM tractors these gauges would fit??

Thanks

David

The Massey combines, 310, 410, and 510 had the same gauge panel, most have cabs which helps keep the panel in good shape. The tach will not work, it turns backward. Any combine junkyard has a good selection of these combines.

...not that they would be any cheaper, but I had an older Cessna 172 (1959) and a Cessna 180 (1955) that had the same 4 small gauges, not the tach and speedo. Might find used ones in an airplane junk yard? John

David,
I believe there would be a demand given the recent prices paid on ebay for complete gauge panels. Are you looking to reproduce the 4 outer gauges only or also the tach and speedo gauges? Price would be a big factor too. I'd say if they were in the $40 range you'd sell quite a few.

I am restoring a 445 and would love to find a source for gauges. For now I have carefuly put my gauge panel away and built a new panel with round gauges hoping to find a way to fix the original.

Dont find alot of them anymore that are good anyway. They would fit the 335,445,4 Star and 5 Stars. If they are reasonable on price Im sure they would be in demand. I would feel better putting a new gauge in a newly rebuilt tractor rather than relying on a used gauge if it doesnt work right and something go wrong.

Yes and to add to Alans comments I would take enough gauges for 6 tractors.

Thanks for the comments. I will have the company quote the gauges. I am looking at reproducing of all 6 of the gauges.

PS: The tach in the combine gauge panel can reversed by removing the spring and turn the spring over. You will need to reset the spring tension to get the proper tach input RPM to needle movement.

Thanks for the info Ill have to try that. If you can get them made reasonable enough I dont think you will have a problem selling them, especially with the tach and speedometer included.

Their is a guy in MI that I found serching on the web that fixes these gauges. He never gave me a quote because, he wants me to send them in to him first. (I guess lazyness is to be said propper.)

Also understand...Dad and I both have a 335 and a 445. 335 is a 6 volt system and the 445 is a 12 volt system (fuel/amp gauge). The line from the tempiture sender to the gauges need to be close to OEM leingth. I don't want too long of a line or one too short that I might need to rout it in a bad or wrong way.

How about the hour meter? Will that be workable?

I think the early 70's chevy trucks uses these squair gauges also.

About your question of a market for gauges..We are intrested for the complete set of 6 gauges for both 335 and 445 models. We will replace all six of them if the price is fair. E-mail me at [email protected] if you have a price quote.
