Happy New Year to All. We recently accquired a G705 in fair condition. It hasn't run in a couple of years and now we can't get the pump to pump fuel. I took the little side cover off and the parts are turning on the inside. Plenty of fuel to the pump.
Any suggestions?? Someone said that the plunger in the pump is probably stuck. I have never dealt with diesel before so this is all new to me. It will fire with a little starting fluid but need to go easy.
HELP???
thanks for a great forum "poor"Rich in Ne

What kind of pump is it? I had this happen on a GBD, it had a bosch PSB. When the guy I bought it from tried to start it it busted some parts in the head on the pump. Repair shop wanted 900 buck to fix it. I found a pump on ebay with lines and injectors for a whole lot less. If it is a Roosa Master pump I cant be of much help. Let me know what pump you have.

On thatr bosch pump the plunger twisted off in the head. On a bosch you always want to take the timing window off and control unit and make sure the control sleeve slides up and down before you try to start it. On the Roosa, there are 2 plunger they move in on the cam ring to supply fuel under pressure. Have you ever worked on a DB Roosa? Also make sure you have transfer pump pressure to fill the injection pump first. Also I have seen the rotor twist off inside the pump yet you will see the parts (governor retainer) turn when the timing window is off.
