Will a 504 power unit bolt into a GVI? I know where I can get one and my GVI needs a motor. Will everything match up? What kind of modifications need to be done? Thanks for any help.

The engine will bolt right in the only possible problem would be the flywheel. If it is an older power unit with the slide in starter you can put the Gvi flywheel on it and everything works. If it is a newer 504 with the starter held in by three bolts you will have to remachine the flywheel from the 504 to accept the clutch ring for the gvi and make a bushing to replace the bearing for the pilot.

I have a Massey 97 with a 504 diesel and a GVI that I put a 605 irragation motor in and they have the large bell housing which is different I think like in a G1000 with the small bell.So check the size first.My GVI origenaly was a 425 propane and some one put the big blocks and heads on it which made it a 504 I pulled that engie and put in the 605.Some day hope to get my HD800 in it.
