I wonder how many acres of North Dakota prairie had to be plowed to wear the clutch drive pin holes THIS much?

Third Party Image

They were WAY ahead of their time, with FOUR valves per cylinder!

Both have ID plates marked with the serial numbers, neither is stamped with the model number.

A REAL instruction "plaque"... NO faded decals here!

I've "started' restoration... I bought an instruction manual on ebay a few days ago! Think it will be of much help?

Great pictures. They made enough 12-20"s back in the day but it certainly makes you think how many have survived after seeing pictures like this. I"d consider these machines lucky too, they eluded the eyes of the scrap man all these years.

Will you make one good one out of the pair or will you attempt to salvage both?

Good luck.

Thanks for the pics!

I really like the one showing the wear! That is what interests me most about the old iron - the stories and long hours and hopes and dreams that all of them shared with their owners and operators...

When I was farming - I felt the "heat" of making a living - inside a JD Sound Gard cab and with a "hot meal" at any nearby convenience store when I got hungry.

I really feel for the folks that used to drive old iron like your TC's out in sandstorms and freezing cold winds or stinging hot sun without a breath of relief...

Please share more pictures as you work on them!

Howard
