I am new to M-M and need some help. I have aquired a G through an estate. I am told that it is a 1954 but we are not really sure of that. The tractor is 300+ miles from home. I want to take a new battery with me when I go after it. I assume that it is 12V? Does it take any special size? The tractor is supposed to run but hasn't been started in a couple of years. Anything I need to look at before starting it?

YOUR GAS OR PROPANE G WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A POSITIVE GROUND. UNLESS SOMEONE HAS CONVERTED IT (UNLIKELY)

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE DIESEL?

I USE CARBURATOR CLEANER AS A STARTING FLUID ITS CHEAP AND WORKS GREAT (MOSTLY STRAIT ALCOHOL)WON'T BLOW A GASKET

It should be 12 volt if it is a diesel it will have 2 long battrerys and a gas or propane should have one if it were me I would check the oil water if a gas drain and put new in. If it is a diesel you wont need a battery at all just pull start it may take a little ether if it has sat that long good luck
