My hydraulic oil leaks out where the levers go into for the 3 pt. and the remotes, is this a big job to fix, does it have some o-rings to replace, or what. It has been seeping for a long time, but now it is getting pretty bad, and the price of oil is not going to get any cheaper, makes a mess on my floor too. Anybody ever worked on this before, I also have weak hydraulics too, but I think my pump might be weak? Thanks

There are 3 o-rings involved at this point. You may have to remove the fender to slide out the levers, install the new o-rings and reassemble. There is no need to remove the valve body. You will learn how to say patience, this can be trying sometimes, and then the next one goes really, really easy. We do many of these procedures a year. What Jet Star do you have? What hyd. pressures are present when cold and again when warmed? How"s the power steering work? Call us @ 920 295 3278, Dale and Doug, River Dale FarMMs

My Jet is a 1959, I bought it from a neighbors estate sale, I think he bought it new. After a couple years of owning it, one of the main bearings spun, so I overhauled it, turn crank, new clutch, pto shaft, numerous other things, except I did not touch the hydraulics. They work good at times, then slow, the power steering works half the time. I know the pressure is not very high, it will lift my belly mount sickle mower, but not a wagon with a hoist, which my Farmall M lifts no problem. So I can just pull those levers from the outside and put in some o-rings?

Is it possible to replace the inner O ring of the 3 in the valve housing that way?

I believe there is an O ring that seals the levers. The valves may be out of sync also if your hydraulics dont respond. I have an M5 that seems slow on a cyl. sometimes but not always. I think you have to remove the valve body and then the levers to replace the O ring, and then reset the valves.
