I have a G-1000 Wheatland with a rebuilt diesel 504 and i was wondering what kind of power can be expected out of one of these tractors. After the rebuild it was right around 125 with a few turns on the pump. After the new intake and exhaust manifolds, turbocharger, and pump maxed out I could hit 185 pretty strong. I was shooting for 200-225 and was wondering if this could be done by injecting propane. Currently it is smoking ever so slightly at full load. thanks for the help Eric

They make different sized heads to put in injection pumps. I think ours is a 45 head. (45cc's of fuel per cylinder ??) called it. It really works. You will need larger lines and a bigger hole in the nozzle. The driveshaft will twist off the drives the pump due to the extreme pressures and ruin the new head. Go to the Oliver pics on this website and look for the 2155 of L. Klingler. I think I would find a different injection pump shop if they can't do this.

I think you need a bigger head in your injection pump, then you will get your 200HP. We have a 2-150 running around 200 HP with stock pump maxed out. We also have a 2155 running about 350hp also. Bigger head in pump, bigger nozzles, and lines. Remember it is not the HP that does the work, it is the torque and these big engines have loads of it. What are you doing with the tractor that you need this much power?????

i have talked to several injection pump places and they told me that the only way to get more power out of an injection pump is to get a pump off of an early model International dozer. I think the motor in those dozers was a DT8?? not for sure. They said that roosamaster had one size bigger head than what i have and that it wasnt worth the money because it still wasnt going to give enough fuel for the amount of air that i have. As far as what i am going to do with the tractor? Nothing more than pull a few times a year at some local pulls. That is if i ever get what i think it is capable of. If i can get enough fuel to it i was planning on putting an intercooler, but for now i still need more fuel. Keep the info coming.

Hey mopower05

I would first have the injectors flow tested , and have them set up to a higher cracking pressure. If the can't put more fuel in with injectors, extra fuel from the pump will not matter. The fuel shop should be able to tell you how high the can flow them for you, for you needs.

i set the crack pressure and made sure that they were all spraying good but as far as how much they will flow i do not know. i will try to bring them by the injection shop and have them checked. i just set them at the stock crack pressure, what kind of pressure would make them better? thanks for the help.

Hey mopower05

You are on the wright track with the cracking pressure. Volume and pressure from your pump is also important for more flow.
If you can do that yourself then you can experiment with the pressure, I would add 20% to the stock pressure and see what happens with the power. You exhaust analisis will tell you the story, more air or more fuel.

Guido.
