From reading some posts here, and some from experience with my UB, I understand there is something a little different or special about the way the hydraulic pump and original cylinder work with the M&M's. I used a neighbor's folding spring tooth a couple weeks ago and found I couldn't quite lift it (his cylinder). I also discovered that when using a fertilizer cart the cylinder on the cart would not stay extended after I released the valve. Any hints on what is different or how to use non M&M cylinders with my UB?

Any idea where I can get a control valve or how much I'll have to pay for it?

The MM cylinders have internal control valves to holdthem in position, where others do not.I once used an after market control valve plumed into hyd system and operated a Cross brand cylinder, whitch worked ok..... .
