I'm restoring a uni and looking to get a new delco-remy tag for the generator. Does anyone know the number stamped on the tag? I've got the parts manual, but I think the number is different.

I'm a UNI guy, I've changed my L to 12v, have all the books, do you have the flat head or the over head valve UNI? email will work best. John

Hey John,

I got that multi-groove drive belt we spoke about a while back. The new is thinner than the old. I don't know if that will make a difference. Have not mounted it yet. Engine should be going together soon.

I"m going to try to restore my dad"s old uni this winter, so I"d like to be able to get in touch with you. My dad"s first uni was a 6 volt and I remember him getting a redution drive for the starter to turn over easier. His second (which I want to restore) had a 12 volt system. Maybe that"s why your numbers don"t match.

Hello,

I've only been able to do a litte bit of the engine only. We have a new baby, so I can only get stuff as money allows. My tractor is at the tractor club in North Carolina and we only meet on Wednesday nights for about four hours, so not a lot get done at one shot. My tractor has an LD picker-sheller on it. I hope to do that too, but that's a ways away. Feel free to contact me either on the forum or e-mail. I'm not on the computer much, but I check this site often. On my generator, the tag was corroded pretty bad and hard to read.

Hey Richard,

I can now see where the model number for the generator is, but the last four numbers at the end of the tag are 5525. I guess it is the serial number according to the tag. 25th generator made in 1955 maybe? I don't know.

Eric
