I just got a Minneapolis Moline $ Star. The engine model number is 206 L-4. The engine serial number is 16306698. The tractor serial number is 16602519. I think it is approximately a 1960 model. When I got it the battery was dead and the positive post of the battery was connected to the ground battery cable. I have not yet replaced the battery or started the engine. My other 4 Star has a negative ground electrical system. Was the battery which had a ground strap to the positive post just connected wrong? If so, must I reverse the polarity of the electrical system before connect the ground cable to the negative post of the battery? If so, what is the correct procedure to reverse the polarity of the tractor's electrical system? RE: Tune Up Specs: What is the spark plug gap, ignition point gap, dwell and timing setting on thsi model? My other 4 Star is LP gas. What are the tune up specs for it? I look forward to getting the information. Thank you.
