How far can you bore a 220 engine with that standard 3.75 cylinder before you break through? I would like to install 4" pistons if possible.

YOu Can bore to 4.00 if you feel like .075 walls are adequate????? ????

YIKES!!! You push things to the max. What do you recomend? I think 3.91 Chevy pistons are out there.

No I don't push gray cast iron that far but you can If you want! I think you could go 3.910 yes, How many times have you asked me this?????

Don't recall. Everyone tells the same thing. "Probably could go 4.0" but I've never heard the limit or any hard numbers. Thanks! As for minimum cylinder thickness? I probably asked ya a million times before yeah. I heard preferably 1/8 or more thickness for most folks. My buddy took a Z to 3.875. I believe it finally cracked.
