Howdy , I am the proud owner of an M5, GB and 5 star. I just purchased a real nice 602 diesel, for a reasonable $2500 . I was wondering what and how much it may take to put the elwood FWA on this tractor. She has a adjustable wide front now. I was told they had to have a special modification to even accept the FWA axle. Also one would have to run a lever up to activate the axle. If anyone has done this, or thinks it could be a reasonable task I would love some input from the MM buffs. I inherited my 3 Molines, and I am really catching an interest for them fast. Such cool tractors.

Im not trying to "clone" a 604, I have just seen some 602 tractor pictures with the FWA. Perhaps 604s decaled 602? I saw a super nice 604 sitting along I-174 running eastbound through central, Illinois- about half hour from Indiana. I tried to track it down, but could not find the country road to get on. Would love to know if that one was for sale!!! Thank you much for any help. Lee Albers

Ok, thanks fellows. Sounds like a big hassle, but that shure would be a neat little tractor. I found out the one I spotted off I-174 in Illinois belongs to a collector, he said he bought it about 9 years ago for $5500. It had a cosmetic restoration that was a 10/10, but the motor or t/a were not gone through. He said he put another 2000 in the TA and on the motor. I guess they are a little rarer then I supposed, he told me they only made 100 of them. Said he has an old list of interested buyers that would be contacted first if he ever decided to sell it.... :( Did not really know the market for them, so if I ever need a mm with fwa, I better just go find a good 706. Thanks, Lee

How long ago was this? And was this east of Champaign?

I first saw the tractor there about two months ago. East of the last "Champaign county" exit on I-174. LAst time through, I stopped at the local John Deere store and inquired if they knew any MM farmers close by. They pointed me about a mile up the road..duh They said he would be happy to let me see the tractos, so I took a pen and paper with me.

I drove down there to ask about it, the fellow was very friendly and was happy to let me drive it around a little. Said he used to have a lot more MM, but it looked like he only had a few left. Looked like they farmed with new Deere tractors, and collect the old stuff He said he bought the 604 when he was 18. What a find, darn it. I saw a Moline chainsaw there, I had no idea about the various Moline products... I just keep gaining interest. Thanks -Lee

The rearend would have to be cutout in the housing to allow for dropbox to be mounted. If I remember right there is a tranfer gear in the bottom of rearend also.
