Hi. I have been trying to follow the MM models through and figure out which models replaced each other. This can be a little trickier with MM than with certain other brands, especially from the mid fifties on. I guess the G series is easy enough, then the U series was replaced by the 5-star, and the Z was replaced through the 445 to the 4-star. Now the R series confuses me. Was the R replaced by the 335? There seems to be a one year gap between the end of R production and the beginning of 335 production, and another year before any 335 universals were made. Was the 335 then replaced by the Jet Star? The Jet Star seems to be too big and powerful to be a good replacement for it. What was the little tractor from 1959 to the end? Were they made with U front ends at all? Did people just not want little nfe tractors any more at that point?

You are right for awhile MM got out of the small tractor department. Many manufactur's didn't replace or upgrade certain modles. By the mid 50's some models were over 15 years old and upgrades were not feasible.

I guess the 335 Kinda sorta replaced the R. It was probably introduced to compete with the smaller Fords though.

In my opinion the Jetstar and 4 star replaced the 445 which was a direct relpacement for the ZB.

The 445 was available in both utility and row crop versions.

The Jetstar was a utility version of the 4 star, which was the universal, row crop tractor.
