I am finally getting to use my 1950 UTU only to find I have two brake pedals on the left side and none on the right. My other hand clutch MMs have pedals on both sides, even my parts 1952 UTU has two on the right and one on the left. What is a 1950 model supposed to have? I don't like it when I am standing on the right side of the platform and I need to use the brake which is on the other side.

our 1954 UTSD has the 3 petals and all of our Us have the live PTO clutch assembly no matter the brake pedals I can not figure any rhyme or reason to it.

Your tractor also has live pto, doesn't it?

For some reason MM made some Us around 1950 with both pedals on the left. I think those models all had the live pto option on them and used disk brakes. These pedals are a steel casting, not fabricated from steel stock like the earlier U tractors used.

They had both on the right side by 1954.

Yes, it does have live PTO, and the brakes are disks. The pedals are nice castings.
Thanks everyone!

i have a '50 UTU, it had two pedals on one side and one on the other....one on each side to pull each brake individually, then one that pulled both brakes. (I can't remember which side had two pedals, as I took it off and now just have a single pedal on each side.

My 150 UTS has a brake pedal on each side, the second one on the right side is to activate both brakes with one pedal.
