I just pulled a MM m-670 out of my uncles yard. However, it has 2 popped frost plugs. Does anyone know if I have to pull the heads off to put new ones back in, or can I squeeze them in some other way? Also, what size of plugs are they?

Thanks,

-Kelly

The frost plugs on the heads are 2" any auto parts store should have them. I have used a steel rod and long pry bar to install one between the heads one time. I would recommend using some weatherstrip adesive glue to help seal it up and to help hold it in since its in a tight location. Make sure to get the middle of plug (bashed in) a little after installing it with the pry bar to properly seat it. Good luck.

If it's plugs between the two heads no. If on the sides yes you can probably get them in but you may find more problems later since they popped out. They were commonly referred to as welch plugs. Try some of the MM parts dealers or Agco for them. Auto supply with Dorman products will have the plugs also. Why did the plugs pop out? Probably need to pull heads anyway and get tested for cracks.
