Jet 3 lightly stuck from setting moved it some on the flywheel any ideas to get it to turn over? (pull radiator and turn on the crankshaft nut?)

The tranny fluid works--an old mechanic at MM (Hopkins facility) did this when some of the engines out in the "bone yard" were hauled in to use and were stuck.

I dont claim to know everything, but it has been my experience that pulling it or rocking the wheels back and forth rarely works, the reason being is that it puts very little if any torque on the engine itself. what has worked for me is to put some penetrating oil or tranny fluid down each cylinder and let is soak for a few days then make sure you have a very hot battery and just bump the starter several times. if this doesnt work fill the cylinder back up with tranny fluid and about a teaspoon of gas and light it...the heat will draw the fluid down around the piston. and if after that you are still froze up, its probably time to pull the head off. like I said this has worked several times for me

Oh no where we go Ford vs Chevy again! Which is better. Your idea is tried and true and works well for you, and that's just great. But mine has worked for me just as good. So whose works better? What ever works I guess to get the same job done.

I definitely didnt post this to start a chevy vs ford argument, and I would have to say if the motor wasnt stuck to bad your idea would be the easiest. I guess its just the way my luck goes, but most of them I have worked on have been stuck up pretty bad and took a little more convincing. I've also had one free up while hauling it home on the trailer, and our club president has used a loader tractor to bounce the front end off the ground a few times and had them come loose. I think you may have taken my post the wrong way

I would leave the crankshaft nut alone and not try to break it free by using it. I would with what Clint says. You may also want to rock it as well.

If it will move on the flywheel you could slowly pull it around in gear wiht something to turn over engine I would pull the valve covers first though and make sure there are not any valves stuck.
