I HAVE A GV1, 425CUIN 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. IT IS ON LP AND WANT TO CHANGE IT OVER TO GAS. NEED SOME ADVICE ON WHAT CARBURETOR WOULD WORK ON THAT ENGINE. I DO NOT WANT TO ADD A ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP. I DO FARM STOCK PULLING WITH THE TRACTOR. THANKS.

my book shows stock GVI gas carb was TSX693 - I don't have the specs on that one - but I have 2 references on GB which was 403 ci - one says 1 1/4" venturi, other says 1 1/16" venturi - the later was used in TSX68, TSX168, TSX394, TSX396, & TSX477. Personally I'd shoot for 1 1/4" and figure with venturi that size, jets will be big enough too. Other issue is linkage - different models had it on different sides, but it sounds like you get to do your own unless you can find a donor tractor - and by the way if you are pulling, the LP set up made more HP than gas - best, Ed

The 425 power unit used a Marvel Schebler TSX-740 or Zenith replacement carb 14997. The G-1000 gas used a Zenith 14990 or MS USX carb but stay away from those USX carbs they are junk. Ask on the pulling board I think some are using Stromberg aircraft carbs on pulling tractors.

I would suggest finding yourself the model number of a G900 gas carb. It was a 425 engine as well and would feed it appropriately.
