UB clutch

Have a 1953 MM UB,and the new clutch that i installed still slips under load .New clutch disk, pressure plate, and flywheel was machined to 1.406".Had this tractor apart three times now ! Any ideas would help, thanks

The clutch problem you deescribe is not enough pressure on the disk. If the pressure plate and the flywheel are in specs, check the free travel on the clutch pedal, also make sure that the motor mounts are tight. I am also assuming that the disk is free of oil.

If you have a live pto clutch,take the cover of to see if the clutch plates are saturated in oil. If they are your inner seal between the rearend and pto clutch is gone. They will slip under load,especially a heavy load.

yes if you have live power clutch on axel check that too. Could be bad faces on clutch discnot gripping flywheel or Pressure plate.

Have you checked the live power clutch. If your tractor has one on it, that could be your problem not the main clutch. Just a thought.

Thank you for the reply.Will the live power clutch slipping cause this?.Saw some old forums on this same [problem lastnight, but were too old to send email back.The guy said that he had a problem like this and he did not use the live power clutch , so he drilled three bolt holes through it , and bolted it together. No slip. Sounds kind of extreme, but it workeed i guess.Thanks for the reply, this really has me baffeled. thanks jim t

Pressure plate not set correct. (wen't through that on a deere 420). Flywheel machined down to much. Rebuilt pressure plate machined down to much. Shaft or gear slipping in transmision etc.

HI , thanks for the reply.My flywheel was machined to the right specs.[ 1.406" ].So i sent the clutch and pressure plate back to the guy that rebuilt it the first time , and he is going to put stronger springs in it.Do not know if there is a shaft or gear that can slip? Tractor drives great , and no noise , loads on the trailer fine and pulls a wagon with no problem, just when you put it on the pulling track. Only goes 100 feet and then slips.and when this happens there is no noise either , just slipping.Thank you again, Jim T
