Delivered my own PGR today

From what you say it sounds like you have a rural rather than city carrier. We both deliver the mail but do some things differently, such as caseing (sorting to you civilians). Rural carriers case all our mail and use our flats (magazines, catalogs, large envelopes, etc) as cups to hold the rest of the flats and the letter sized items. That is why your PGR and all of the rest of your flats gets folded in half. We have one inch and two inch cells to hold all the route's mail in the delivery sequence and if you don't get much mail your carrier may be using a one incher for your mail, which would exacerbate your problem. Also, the way we pack our mail in the trays for delivery tends to further crease the folded flats. My advice would be to catch your carrier on the route some day or even go to your Post Office in the morning bebore he/she leaves and tell him/her you don't want to have your PGR folded. He/she will put a marker in your cell when the PGR arrives and take the PGR out in their small parcel tub where it will remain nice and flat. I suggest you take a copy of the PGR out with you so they can get a visual of all that gold color and it will make it easy for them to remember to make that association with your name and that gold magazine. Hopefully he/she will get the message to their sub and they remember. After a while on the same route you get to remember a lot of certain mail that certain people get. Despite all the jokes about poor mail service it is really pretty efficient and we go out of our way to meet reasonable requests. We have some people that request no Saturday delivery and on route #2 there are 3 feeble people that want their mail rubber-banded so they can carry it easier without loosing it, and on route #1 we rubber band mail for a fella that is in a wheel chair. These aren't huge things that are hard on us but are important to the customers. Hope this helps.
