This old tractor of mine came with the farm we bought 4 years ago. About all it would do was move forward when we got it. Nothing worked. I tore apart the trans and TA yesterday. Both of them just needed adjustment mostly and I had to make a new pin for the PTO clutch pack but no big deal. I tested it all out last night on a hay baler and it"s working like a charm now. This morning I rewired the headlights and tried to make sense of the mess behind the instrument panel. It"s seen way too many farmers that don"t care enough to fix something right. I fixed the amp gauge but the oil and water gauges are trashed. I pulled the cable for the tachometer and it"s twisted in two. I can"t turn the tack either. The glass was smashed by hale many years ago and it"s all rusted up. Since these gauges are the last thing I need to have everything working does anyone know where I might get a good working set? I"d like the whole panel if possible with the glass and the cables and tubes. I"ve been looking around the net and no luck so far. Oh there is one more thing not working that I forgot about. The governor. It doesn"t work at all and I don"t have a good enough reason to tear into the front of the engine yet to fix it. I just keep an eye on the engine speed and hand throttle it. I hardly ever run it very fast anyway.

I"m just glad it"s mostly working now. It"s my only farm tractor at the moment and it"s pretty nice. I had a nice farmall that did most of the work untill this winter but we sold it to finance other projects.

WTA, The dash panels from a 310, 410, 510 MF combine will work, the tach won't however, it turns backward. Most had cabs so the panels are usually in good shape.

A instrument cluster from a Massey Feurguson 510 combine is very similar to what you got,any good MM cluster are none existent in my opinion.

When that governor isn't working you most certainly do have a good reason to tear in to that engine area. DO NOT RUN IT!!! Call us @ 920 295 3278, Dale and Doug, River Dale FarMMS
