I have a 45 ZTS that has 10A1462 blocks instead of RE 101. Aybody know what the blocks are off. Also it has distributor not mag.

molinegb,for a while M-M used a distributor on the RE engines installed in the Z series tractors. They were used in engines #73512 - 74911 inclusive, maybe yours in one of these. It was a D-R model No. 1111506 which was used on the R's of the mid-40's for a while. As far as your blocks, I think the other fellas are right, they were a late replacement block and I think made it into late R and ZB production. At one time I thought I had it nailed down to their having hardened valve seats installed for the propane tractors, but I sure can't prove it. Hope this helps.

I think they were replacement blocks. After the RE101. I have a set on my RTI. I thought they were used on ZB models but I have a ZB with re101a blocks. Good question?

the 10A blocks were used on at least some ZBs and were replacement for the RE101s on older models.

The last ZTS I saw with late blocks had a 206 engine in it.
