I have a ub special with hdmebuilt 3 point and the hyd cylinder leaks off internally and will not hold the lift when raised. Could the internal valves be leaking off and what is the easiest fix. also could the valves be reversed so the good one will hold in the up position,if it is good.also are new valves available and what is cost$$$$$$$$$.

Yes the check valves are probably leaking. Parts book lists them as Valve-relief lockout part # 11A4271 (nylon ) 11A22411 (steel). I dont believe the steel ones are available any more. Nylon ones were about $15-25ea a couple years ago...I cant remember exactly. I dont know if the nylon ones have to have the seat reamed to fit. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge on here can enlighten us about that. If yours has steel ones you might have to change the springs in it also as the nylon ones used a slighty longer spring. ( I just learned that from looking in the book...learn something new everyday).

Most early models require a MM cylinder. Something to do with the check valve. You can use a Minneapolis Moline cylinder or place a four point lock valve in series with your cylinder. I like the lock valve, but you can't release with the engine off, it will stay in place until you force it down.
