Another problem now is the front mount hydrolic pump which is third party along with
the Lull loader and runs off of the front
crankshaft normally where you would place a hand crank.
It is kind of rinky dink with a double t
on a single 1 " shaft going from the motor to the hydroulic pump connecting coupling.
I had the pump rebuilt because of a seal leak but that did'nt work, the seals now is fine but it is leaking around the bolts even
with new gaskets installed and retorking the bolts and it still leaks.
There is no side or rear mount power takeoff
unit, if there was I could addapt a new pump
to one of these units replacing the rinky dink front mounted pump. I may try to addapt a new pump using a new front mount bracket and use two matching couplings,
one mounted on the crank shaft
and the other mounted on the pump shaft getting rid of the rinky dink double t shaft.
The old pump is a 4 bolt bottom mount and
I checked Northern tool but no bottom mounts
available in their cataloge.

Any other suggestions will be welcome

The book says it is a Delco distributor and the points did not look that old but
were badly burnt. They mached up fine with an older chevy small block v8 point set.

I finnally found the engine tune-up area in
my manual and you are right as far as gap
setting the points goes. They say between
.018" -- .024".
