Does anyone have any tips on assembling an early 206 MM power unit with the hydraulic lifters? Its the same valve system as MM used in the NTX tractor.

Specifically, in what order did you put the lifter parts in? Will the bars that go down toward the cam go in with the bolts tight, or do you have to leave them loose until you slip them in?

How did you hold the tappets up while you put the camshaft in? And which part-block or cover is better to stick the valve cover gasket to before you put them together?

I can not say for certain how it all goes back together but I would be willing to send you the information that is in the NTX manual I have. I took a quick look at the book a while back and I believe their write-up requires the cam to be removed and the cam follower plunges retained into the housings.

E-mail me and let me know if I can help you out.
