I am looking for a bigger tractor for bailing. I have found a G-900 and a G-950 both diesels. Which one would be a better choice? are their any weakness in either one I need to look for?Another question is do both have the same motor? Thanks Chris

Same engine. A 3 speed ampli-torque was offered on the 950, but not many were made and parts are hard to find. The extra speeds would be handy for baling, but unless you have access to a machine shop, I would stick with the 2 speed which was also offered. I've been told that the 950 had slightly larger diameter axles, but I never measured to verify this. Really not much difference other than sheet metal, although they may have changed suppliers on certain parts.

I would go with the 950 if they had the same condition, hours. It will have a heavyier wide front, wedge taper lock hubs for rear axel.a 1969 900 will have taper locks also. A crenlo cab I think only came on the 950. All in all I go with the new one unless you can afford both. Good luck! David
