Schrock Auction Mystery

If you take a look at the Schrock Auction on the Aunann Auctons web site, you will see that there were two Moline Universal tractors that sold on Saturday. I have dreamed of owning one,but figured I never would. When the first one sold for $9000, I kinda got excited. This was well over the banker (wife) approval level for this auction, but this was SPECIAL. The second one was a few lot numbers later, so I positioned myself stratecically for the buy of my old tractor lifetime. Well, to make a long story even longer, I was blown out of the water as soon as it started. This one sold for $39,000!!!!!

What did I miss? I asked a selling family member who indicated he had talked to the auctioneer. He didn't have an explanation for the difference. Anyone have any ideas? Schrocky - any ideas?

The 1st one for $9000 had a huge patch on the side of the engine block and water had been seeping from it.

I was standing beside the guy that bought the second one and somebody asked him why he bid $30000 higher on it than the other one and his comment was that it looked better. I do not want to offend any body but they both looked pretty decent to me and a paint job and some work is a lot less than $30K well seemed like a lot of money for things that can be bought cheaperif people wanted to look it was an auction it only takes 2

I fizzeled out on what I went for but brought home one of the 706's WOW first tractor I ever bought that we could drive to the trailer ! gonna skip church and check the fluids and hook it up to the old 5 bottom IH today !

Gary, I was at the auction. Before the 1st Universal sold Kurt pointed out that it had a McCormick engine in it. I believe this would explain the low price compared to the 2nd tractor.

The Schrock family and Aumann's did a wonderful job of getting 452 tractors up in shape for the sale and of conducting the sale. Kurt would be the only one I would contact for a sale.

Unbelievable. I hope the auction met your expectations. you guys worked really hard and it was a great show. I tried on the TC KTA and the Massey 97. I came up $500 short on both.

well we obviously had a meeting with all the Schrocks and the Aumann crew and we believe it was just a matter of 2 people realizing that if they are going to take one home that now was the time. I must be missing something too because the slight difference in the 2 was the Dupont in our opinion

One last question - are you guys satisfied with Aumann Auctions?

They appear to me to me to be about as good as it gets re. auctineers. I bought a tractor at one of their auctions about a month ago in Ky. and was impressed with how they managed a smaller aucton also. To me, 100 percent professional.

As the sellers we have nothing but GOOD things to say about Kurt and his whole staff. We were told in our first meeting that he does not allow any games and Integrety was a must.We tried our best to present everything as we seen it.Thanks again everybody and yes we would hire them again.

Hello,

I have a number of tractors to include John Deere, McCormick-Deering, Case, Farmall and International.

I was wondering if there was anything different than normal about some of the tractors that you sold:

McCormick-Deering 0-4; the highest I ever saw one go for was about $15,000-I think yours brought about $28,000

McCormick-Deering Super W-6; I think it brought $6,000, a very high price in my opinion.

McCormick-Deering Super WD-9; I think it brought
$9,000 to $12,000, a very high price in my opinion.

It really appears that Aumann did you a good service with the price you received on some of those tractors.
