It looks like you've got Oliver/HP 70 rear fenders adapted to your R. Rear steel wheels are not listed in any R model parts books which would support the theory of no R models coming from the factory with steel wheels. The R model had a smaller axle than any other MM tractors (Z's, U's, etc) so I'm not sure where those steel wheels came from. They don't look like MM parts. If there are any numbers on the wheel center hub please post them and maybe we can tell you where they came from.

Have not found any numbers on the hubs yet, but will be pulling them off today so maybe??? Think you are right about the fenders, believe they were replaced to fit the steel wheels. Thanks so much for your help!!!!! Charlotte

In my area some farmers put steel wheels on during WW2 since rubber was harder to come by. This is what the old farmers have told me. I have a 39 rt wide front pressed steel rears.. Cant remember what size rubber though. I think this is how they came though. good luck with your project.

Thanks for your help. Tractor is dated at the end of the depression so I figure some farmer put steel on the back because rubber was expensive. I posted a pic.

I am located in Marshall, TX. About 50 miles from the state line on I-20. How much for the parts tractor? I have a business in Marshall and would have to pick it up on the weekend. Thanks for your help,

For Parts I use Welters in MO somethings you listed have been on Ebay recently. According to my records the RTU was never produced with factoy steel wheels. MOst of the R models came with out a cab only about 400 cabs produced and about 35000 R model tractors made.

Your question is quite general in nature. What do you need help with? According to my book, 1939 was the first year for the RT. Parts are generally easily obtained and so are paint and decals. So what do you need?

I need a radiator, radiator shroud and fuel tank. Not sure where to find parts. I am from Texas and we have seen very few Minneapolis Moline's around here. Would also like to know if the steel rims on the back are original or not. They look original but I have not seen any other RT's with them. Most of the older RT's have a cab on them. We are going back to the farm that we purchased this tractor to see if maybe the cab was taken off. Serial number on this tractor is 401473.
