'47 UTU Fenders

I've got a early '47 UTU S/N 330797J. This tractor has the big over-the-wheel crown style rear fenders. I was reading a MM book I recently got which indicated these fenders were last put on U family tractors built in '45. To be correct,(kinda important to me) should I replace the big fenders with the proper clamshell type....or be happy with what I've got? Thanks much for any advice.
