Have any of you guys used one of the manifolds that are sold on ebay that fit the 445/335 mm's/ I need one.

No, but have one on my Big Mo400 (Industrial version of the jetstar) from that V-B place in Iowa for about the same money. I was well pleased.(Was about same $ 2 years ago. I don't know about now.) It even came with a universal type intake, but I didn't use it, it was more like a U302 casting.

the ones that I saw, on the intake part, the riser from the carb to the horizontal, looks alot shorter than the one on my 445?

I don't think its shorter. it is wider in diameter and curves away from the engine to accomidate a U302's carburetor which has about 1/4" larger intake and 1/8"-1/16" larger throat.
