I have a 1958 MM Utility 445. I have a backhoe attachment I would like to add. The backhoe has a 6 spool open center valve. Does anyone know where and what ports on the MM I should attach it to (ie for supply and return oil). My tractor has the optional 2 way valve with the 2 extra Rams (controlled by the same bucket levers)if this helps. Thank You

Randy, I suggest put a pump on the PTO. Use a separate reservoir for that pump. I don't think you have the gpm flow from the tractor's pump or the fluid capacity in the reservoir to power a backhoe.

Sorry, no. I just read the Tel-O-Flo section in the I/T manual. It sounds like fluid is free to circulate through the system at low/no pressure until the control levers are moved. So you can't just tap onto a passage in the valve.

And since the pressure line is plumbed through the transmission case (Actually its a drilled passage) on your 445, It doesn't look like you could even install a parallel circuit valve to use the pump's flow with any convenience.

Thanks T.R.K. What do you think of this. After reading the tech manual, I removed the external plug from the pump side discharge. This plug is directly off the PTO pump.The pump per my manual is a 25 GPM unit and it feeds through the internal orifice into the transmission after the power steering valve lifts (Which mine doesn"t have anyway). I put a hose on the pump discharge plug and it did flow at 25 GPM. Since this is the supply for the internal feed I see no reason it can"t be used for a separate external feed. I didn"t check it for pressure but since its directly off the pump I am presumming it must be the same as internal pressure. Your thoughts???
