the U(tu) operators manual talks about the heat adjustment on the exhaust manifold outlet. where should that be set in today's gasoline formula? also are the new aftermarket replacement manifolds adjustable that way or are they fixed in a position? and which position?

The warm or hot position was for running older fuels like distillate or kerosene. The colder position is for gasoline. It took more heat to get distillate fuels and kerosene to vaporize and combust without pinging or pre-ignition knock. I think the fuel valve is available new reproduction for U manifold also. That's why the pulling guys are going with manifolds off later MM gasoline tractors and different carbs that were designed for gasoline from the start.

doesn't seem that adjustable though, being you have to loosen a few bolts and turn the outlet.

this tractor is/was gas only.
