I'm restoring a 47 RT at least I think it is.There's no ID tag on the tranny but the engine # is EE417653.My question is whether it is supposed to have a cutout or a regulator & also if it has a regulator where does it mount?.And do the engine Ser.# & the tractor #s.coincide?.If I were to get a new plate could I use the same #.Thanks for any help Ron

Ron,

Your little "R" originally came out with a cutout, and no, it would be very unlikely if the numbers matched on the tranny and engine. I have never seen a match myself and have Brian Rukes M-M "R" Registry and have never seen a match in there. The engine numbers tend to run a little higher, by maybe 100 or 200, than the tractor numbers because some of the engines were used in power units. I can give you some examples of serial number pairings from that serial # range if you would like. Hope this helps.

Jim
