M5 steering piston O rings

On a M5 steering piston, how do you get the 2 leather washers on the piston? Do you soak them in anything or just put them on very careful. They don't look like they stretch very much. Thanks for any ideas. Harold

Just be gentle , careful, take your time and lube well with something like a lite hyd oil. Just did our M602 that way with success. If you can get your hands on an IT manual it helps with R&R.
