I'm putting back together my ZA engine and the gasket set I've got has cork gaskets that go between the blocks and the crankcase. I'm not a big fan of cork gaskets since they eventually weep. These are in a fairly visible area too. Were these originally cork? Are there other sets out there that have paper gaskets? I believe my gasket set is a Reinke. Thanks for any help.

I would use the cork gaskets. If you put in a thinner gasket than it had your top ring will hit on the ridge. If your blocks have been bored and you are putting in new pistons and rings it should not be a problem, however I would still use the cork.

Even a paper gasket can weep over time. If you assemble it, then coat it with a good amount of primer and paint when you paint it, it will seal it up. Its just a tractor, they will all eventually leak.

Cork is what you'll get if you buy a set of those from the AGCO store. Those are pretty simple gaskets. Wouldn't be much trouble to cut a set by hand.
