I recently purchaced a UBE with a 3pt hitch on it. It appears to be a well built unit that fits the tractor well. I was trying to figure out if it was Moline or aftermarket. Did MM build a 3pt for these? thanks for any help

Hi Keith! I have one of those I had take off of an RTU. There are really two different types as far as being and early and a late model. You are close on the name but it is Hitchor. I believe it comes from the break down as "Hitch" as in three point hitch and "chore" as in of course chores on the farm. Hope to see ya in Rochester!

Jake,

I looked at the UBE w/3pt when it was in Yuma. It is an after market and possibly made by Hitcher (spelling). There was a ZA in the bone yard with a similar 3pt on it. I took a picture of the serial number plate on the ZA 3pt but I can not remember how the manufacturer spelled its name. The one on the UBE looked like a super stout unit.

I"ll see if I can find my picture and speak more intelligently later.

Keith

I found my picture.

The hitch on the ZA had a serial number plate on it that read the following:

Hyteco Hydraulic Lift
Made By
Hydraulic Tool and Equipment Company

Based on the serial number being 1743, it loks like they made plenty of these hitches.

I do not know a lot about Moline's, so I am going to ask a question.

I know that Moline had a 3 point hitch for the ZB's. I also know they had a 3 point hitch for the model R, and it was called a "Hitcher", or something like that.

My question is this: If Moline called the 3 point on the R "Hitcher", could the 3 point on a UB be factory if it has the same name?

earthmasterk, I have seen both Hitcher and Hitchor in M-M literature, but most often Hitchor in regard to the factory 3-Pt for the R. I'm not convinced M-M ever had a factory 3-Pt for the ZB or the UB.

Jim, I have see ZB's with 3 points on them. I do not know if they were factory or not. All I know is, I questioned a Moline collector about his ZB with 3 point and he showed me the holes in the drawbar mounting bracket, and he said that came from the factory. Later I see other ZB's that had the holes for the mounting pins, but they didn't have 3 point on them. Like I said, I don't know a lot about Molines, and I guess it shows.

I am sure it is aftermarket. We have one too and it matches very well to the tractor but in all my research I have not found where MM made one for it. The interesting thing for us is the front wieght bracket that looks as factory as they come with banana style wieghts on it. If anyone has more info I would like to know also
