PS on M602

I have a M602 and the PS is leaking around the seals where the lines go in and I looked in my parts book. I am assuming the o rings are worn. The book shows leather seals also. Are parts available still ? where and I also have a lot of slop where the steering shaft goes into the unit. Any help would be appreceated and Thanks

For a manual, you can watch e-bay, they're there all the time or if you have a TSC store in your neighborhood you may be able to buy 1 book that covers just about all the Molines you'll ever own. If you have a stream leak, you have work to do. I doubt if you'll find much bind in a narrow front but I would check for binds between the steering wheel and the control valve.

All seals, rings, backup rings, etc are available. Welters 417-498-6496. Do not be concerned about the "slop" in the shaft, it's meaningless. Just O-rings where the lines enter the control valve.

Thank you I called and ordered ,see I am not the only one,schrocky which valve are you wanting to reseal Welters said they can get those parts too and how much leakage is too much it pretty much runs out would that make it steer hard anybody know

Thank you I was concerned about the slopiness...would you disassemble the valve itself and check those rings or not. It is leaking on the ends of the steer cyl will that also cause it to steer hard ?? Thanks again

It's not likely that a leak, unless it is huge, will cause difficult steering. Is your 602 a wide front? I would jack the front of the tractor off the ground and see if that makes any difference in the ease of steering. I have found that the majority of difficult steering has nothing to do with the hydraulics, it's usually a king pin or tie rod or the U-joints and bushings in the steering mechanism. If removing the weight from the front wheels makes no difference and there is no binding in the steering shaft, etc. I would then get an IT manual, it will tell you how to check it out from a hydraulic performance standpoint. It's not a bad idea to go through the steering control valve and the steering piston with new O-rings, etc. but I wouldn't undertake that over a couple of drops of oil. Really, look for some binding first.

I have a narrow frt can it still bind in there or not ? My leak is pretty bad I ordered seals do you think that will do it ? any idea where I can buy a manual ?
