Hey guys, I am about to buy an old M5 with the 336 diesel in it. It seems to run just fine. The guy that owns it says that the only thing it needs is a new hydraulic system filter. I can find oil filters for this tractor but no hydraulic filters. Is this guy blowing smoke ? The 3 point goes up and down just fine and the PTO works well. Anything special I should look for on this diesel unit ? Do I just need to clean out the filter on the hydraulic unit or find another filter ?

How about one better and I just give oil and fuel filters both!
Oil Filter 10a10423 WIX 51118
Oil Filter cover gasket 10a10422
Fuel Filters Secondary and Final are the same number 10a3366 WIX 33113
Gaskets for Bowls are 10a3364

The primary filter is just a wash out metal screen. Depending on what brand of filters you get some times they cover with the gaskets you need and sometimes not. Riverdale Farms are good people to deal with too, so don't worry about that.

Good luck with it and if you need anything just drop me a line my email is open.

I own an M5 diesel as well along with others of that fine MM line. How many filters would like? I have to supportive Agco dealers in my area.
MM FILTER #10P1851 & COVER GASKET 10P1852

Wix filter #51828
Baldwin #PT265
new AGCO #10A23992

The WIX number should be had at your local NAPA store. If not email me and I can send you one. Hope this helps.

I can"t thank you enough for the info. This far down in Texas, no one knows much about these tractors. If it isn"t green or red iron, forget it. Is there anything specific I should look for on this M5 that seems to go wrong or that you have to maintain often ?
