I'm curious if theres a few MM farm toy collectors on here? I'm a regular on ToyTractorShow but don't see hardly any over there (I know of one guy there who collects 1/64 scale MM). My main interest is 1/16 Oliver and White but I also have a few Cockshutts & Molines. I don't know about the real deal, but those Moline toys are hard to find around here!

I'm an avid MM toy collector. I've got about 120 different MM toys varying from the original Slik 1/32 models to the Mohrs, Cottonwoods, Cerolls, Ertls, Scale Models, Auburn Rubber, Spec Cast and several different 1/64 custom builders too. I've been to the ToyTractorShow website but haven't had the time to investigate it very much. For those looking for more 1/16 MM toys keep your eyes open in 2008 for the Toy Tractor Times G1000 Vista model that Spec Cast says they're going to be making. Should be the start of several nice toy variations (4wd, cab, etc.) Don't have any details of exactly which model will be made for TTT so just stay tuned. I'd rather see a row crop G1000 toy instead of the Vista because you could get more model variations with G900 too but I'm not complaining.
Enjoy talking tractor whether toy or real ones so comments/questions always welcome.

Brian

Atleast SpecCast is coming around by making the 4 Star and 445. I keep waiting for them to jump into the Super series and make us a JS3,302, 670, G1000 or something like that. All we have is the stylish 1/32 670 with the all black rubber wheels, or the Old Vista.

I think demand played a big part in toy tractor sales. It was also different in different areas of the country. In my area we could get more than we could sell.

I was wondering if anyone know how much Minneapolis moline sold out for? Were they really failing. I know the story about being bought out by white, or what ever but what is the whole story? Seems there is some details missing

I WISH ERTL,SPECAST OR SCALEMODEL WOULD BUILD A G1355 OR G955 WITH FENDER FUEL TANKS. IT SEEMS WHEN ANYBODY MAKES A MODERN OLIVER OR MOLINE TOY THEY WANT TO PUT FRONT WHEEL ASST. ON EVERYTHING.

Yes the Mohr stuff was awesome I have a shelf full ,but there again...not offered by MM and Models not toys and 40 yrs late ! Do I sound cranky? a little because I believe MM was the finest equipment built in its time ,they made many small marketing mistakes and this is one of them

When I was MM dealer in the 50's, 60's, and 70's I could get all the toy's I wanted or could pay for. I think if a dealer wanted toys he could get all he wanted.

I do not want to argue with you but in the 60's and 70's which were a critical time how many different models could you get ? They offered a 1/24 scale 602 and 670 which fit with nothing else... I mean red and green offered a complete farm set . I have them still and I have my MM stuff too even my G1000 which I think was the first 1/16 scale ...correct me if I am wrong but my point is variety was very limited

MM never made very many nice toys while they were in business. Dad farmed with MM and every Christmas we got red or green toys to play with. I have but a few they actually did have at the time. I know there is lots of stuff made today but it is just not the same. Personally I feel this is one reason MM failed as a company. As we grew up we bought the tractors and equipment we had played with as kids, and MM offered nothing.

I'll admit Oliver didn't have a whole lot either, minus some ERTL & Slik pieces. There are some nice ones available now though. I think about the best MM replicas were the ones made by Roger Mohr years ago, though they are a bit out of my price range for the time being.

Hey BEM1,
Well I guess I can talk about it now if SpecCast is talking. Jay (owner of TTT) told me he didn't think it would work out with the licensing but that was almost a year ago too. We'll see....
