Evolution 1938-1959
G was biggest MM size - all were standard fronts.
Sheetmetal changes, increasing HP, stronger transmission/rear end, normal evolution.
First generation was designated GT 1938-41
Second generation was GTA 1942-47
Third generation was GTB 1947-54
Intermediate generation same as GTB but with smaller displacement and LP was GTC 1951-53
Last generation was GB 1955-59 (gas, LP, Diesel)
As I recall all were 403 ci 4 cyl except GTC which was 340 ci. GB on LP went back to 403 with stronger gears. The Diesel GTB 1953-54 and GB 1955-59 were first 6 cyl at 425 ci.
