I have always considered myself a bit of a MM fanatic but I am ashamd to admit that until this morning I never knew the MM model IT experimental tractor that I had only seen pictures of still existed. I understand that Dale Casteel owns and restored this one of a kind tractor. does anybody know the story on it. where did he get it?..anything about this tractor would probably be fun to know...thanks in advance

There was a good article about it in the Antique Power Magazine a few years back. I really don't know much about the thinking behind its assembly other than it is reported to have actually done field work at the test farm during WWII.

There is another R experimental with sheet metal similar to ZA grille and hood also. Pictures of it are printed from time to time.

Also, there is another early experimental that uses an experimental version of the RE (ZT tractor) engine. It has a channel iron frame from the engine back and uses what looks like a truck transmission. It was at the MM show in McConnelsburg PA in the early 1990s. I do not know where it resides, but there is a picture of it in the Stainless Specialties ad on page 16 of the January-February Antique Power.

There are alot of MM experimental tractors and engines out there. There was a place in Indiana called Goose Pond Farms that had about 8 GB diesels with fwa and 2 GB gas with small bell 605 engines and fwa. I have seen the v12 hd 800 they built and there were 2 v12 605s built as well. Any one ever hear of the G860? Inline 8 cylinder diesel? supposed to be 12 of them built all but a couple were returned to the factory and dismanteld.
