Could a 1210 power unit fit in a tractor? I guess it is just 2 605s put together isnt it?

I think both sides of the engine ran the same direction. CC or CCW. We also ran some dual gear heads on Irrigation pumps. One engine one on each side.

We used some 1210 power units for irrigation and to run cotton gins in this area back in the 40's and 50's. They did build them cw and ccw rotation. This was to get the rotation you wanted on the pto. You could also get a front pto which would reverse the rotation of the pto. We also had a few 1600's. They were like the 1210's mounted side by side and run through a gear box. We found if you needed that kind of power it was better to belt them together side by side even if you needed 3 engines. Never heard of or seen a V-type 1210 or 1600

The engines in a 1210 both ran the same direction. Both engines ran cw or ccw.

THAts how i was thinkin the 1210 was built. i have never seen one. i just thought it might be like 2 605 cramed together at the crank in a v configuration. A 1600 inch v 12 does exist? man that would be alot of motor in a Gb

Are you certain about the engines rotating opposite directions? I can not imagine a combining gear box arrangement that would require the engines to rotate in opposite directions. I have never seen one of these set-ups but it would seem a lot simpler am cheaper to have the engine be identical.

Yes Have seen the cam shaft with the backward teeth! Even though it is strange that they chose that method.

I have heard of some of the early dragsters that were multiengined, they meshed the two flywheels together and ran the clutch off one flywheel. That would need one engine turning backwards from the other. Bryce
