Can someone please let me know what to set the timming on a 425 gas GVI. I'm wanting to set it for pulling. Also what is the best that I can expect on horespower. It has 06 heads on it. Thanks,

maximum advance at 700 rpm acording to the book is 13 to 16 degrees.RPM will play a big role on HP and if you tweak the governor.Factory hp was 78 at 1500rpm.06 heads on a 425 has 8.35 to 1 cp ratio.A g1000 with a 504 and 1800 rpm made 110hp.I have a GVI that had a 504 that was stuck ,put a 605 in place of the 504 around a 125hp they say,I think a little more.
