Oil filter for MM Z and seal

Hi Folks: Just brought home a MM Z but previous owner did not put a seal in when he put in a new oil filter last spring. When we started it today in the cold oil blew out around the filter. Says he did not have the right seal. I own some green and gray and all filters come with a seal. Are these any different? Any body have the filter number for it? Can wait to try it out. Thanks in advance for you time and efforts. Drew s/w WI.
