I set the Roosa Master DBGFF pump @ 11Deg BTDC on my MF 95. cRank it over and nothing, some white smoKe and thats about it. I am getting fuel to the injectors, no air in system. The injectors and pump were rebuilt and tested on a bench. I am wondering if there is something I am missing. The left scribe mark in the pump timing window is not in the center of the window, is this normal? There is another timing window on the other side of the pump against the crank case.the two scribe marks are lined up when the #1 cyl is 11deg BTDC on the compression stroke. This pump and line set came off a G1000 I'm told. Would this pump have a solenoid? I can not find any wires coming out of it. I realize that I may have a compresion problem, I'm trying to find an old injector in which to fashion a tester.Any help would be appreciated.

Curt, I believe the flywheel has been removed, I will see if I can find TDC #1with out the marks. and work my way back from there.Firing order is correct, gears are tight.

I assume that it just runs on the ether you give it and then dies. Sounds like you did the timing thing right as long as you were turning the engine in the proper direction (clockwise from the front). Two thoughts, since the pump and lines came off a different tractor, check the sequence of the lines for 1-5-3-6-2-4. I think the next thing I would try is moving the pump 1 tooth in either direction to see what results, if any, you get. I know that's a pain with lines attached but it sounds like you're close. Sometimes there's so much wear in drive gears that you can get a false timing reading. I recall having a similar problem once before. If you're close and move the pump a tooth one way, you'll get even less action than you have now; move it two back the other way and you may get something.

The pump has no electrical input and it sounds like you have things timed correctly. Have you tried a little ether to get it going? White smoke is better than no smoke, at least fuel is present and being burned. It's 20 degrees here and I guarentee that neither of my 97's will start without ether and/or plugged in block heaters for hours.

The tractor has been plugged in to a circulating heater for days, could cook and egg on it practically, There is no kill switch ao this pump I take it, all is controlled from the one throttle arm? Thanks Curt for your input.

Those heaters really work, don't they! You didn't mention any ether treatment. I'd like to know if you can get the thing to fire at all. I don't like ether either but sometimes it's necessary. Are you quite sure that you timed the pump TDC No. 1 and not TDC No. 6?

Hello Curt, it will fire w/ ether. And no I'm not exactly sure it is timed to 11deg BTDC #1 cylinder, I rotated the engine until the second valve (f/ Front of the tractor) was closing then continued to rotate till the mark was lined up. I hope this is correct. Thanks for any advice.
