I have spoken to many different people on this, and I get different answers every time, so I wonder- what is a true value of a Moline suitcase weight? I know what I have paid for some myself, and what I was willing to pay for some and have passed on. What are some numbers people have seen?

Got screwed by a MM salvage dealer and payed $300 for two. Traveled to Minn and expected to pay around $150. He said they were easily worth the money. Bought them anyway, didn't want to waste the trip. A real hot place would need to freeze over before I bought anything else from him. Afterwards bought four more locally at an auction for around $27 each. The average price considering all of them wasn't too bad.

Rule of thumb is typically $1/lb no matter what brand.

You gotta remember that the ebay price is not a good average due to limited supply (usually 1 lot) and multiple bidders.

I recently bought (3) MM 100 lb suit case weights out of a junk yard and gave $25 each.I thought I got a great deal. They had been painted green.

I know where 3-4 more are at one place real close by and 6 more at another place. The 6 originally came new on our Super M-670 MM back in 1967.

Are you talking of the two handle weight with no MM? If so, thats what us Oliver guys call Oliver suitcase weights. Part number should be 20-0007856.

I've payed $75-$90 each among MM collectors before, but I've heard them go as high as $120 each. Dad has bought pile for $25 before but those deals are a stroke of luck.

I think the MM suitcase weights are nonexistant in Texas. 6 of them just sold on ebay for $616. I didn't bid quite enough. Freight would have been expensive from Minnesota to Texas.

I was bidding on those on ebay, and they got way too rich for me. They were actually in central Wisconsin, and a drive from SE Minnesota would have almost been too far when I hit my max.

Last pile I bought give $35 for 4 weights 2 with MM 2 Blanks. Everybody around us wants IH weights for pulling tractors usually bring $0.50 to $0.75 per pound with after markets being higher because they are not stamped "off brand weights" are usually picked up for scrap price.
