302 Super bad oil pressure

My Dad's 302 Super lp will drop the engine oil pressure to near zero after it runs a little and gets warmed up. He unhooked the line to the gauge and not much pressure there. Set up the pressure screw, not much help.

History: Nice tractor but a couple of years ago (5?)the drain plug fell out and the motor locked up I think. Cooled down and ran okay. I think it got new rod bearings but not mains when a piston top broke later.

Any help? I figure the bearings are out or maybe oil pump trouble. Runs okay now, just no pressure so it is parked.

Some things to check:

Is the pickup clogged? You will have to take the side cover off the engine. Might as well plastiguage the rods while you are in there. (.001-.003 clearance.)

Make sure the oil pressure relief plunger is not sticking open. check the spring too. they're behind the big nut that has the oil pressure adjust screw in it.

Check to be sure the keys didn't shear in the oil pump drive gear on the distribuitor shaft or in the drive gear in the pump.
